Purpose of the association:
The association aims to provide people of all backgrounds with access to agricultural land
and thereby offer them accessible opportunities for producing their own food
as well as for meaningful, healthy and environmentally sustainable leisure activities. The
association is based on a communal, farm-based organisational model, in which
members jointly plant, tend and harvest vegetables, cereals and fruit for their
own consumption.

In addition to the aim of self-sufficiency in organic food, the association is committed to a
range of idealistic goals. The association’s activities address numerous social challenges
of our time and aim to promote both the common good and an ecologically sustainable
and climate-resilient development of our city. Through the communal and
ecological management of the agricultural land leased from the City of Vienna in the
Löwygrube, we aim to make a specific contribution to improving the following areas:

(1) Access to land and allotments – We want to provide simple, fair and
affordable access to allotments, thereby giving people in the city the
opportunity to grow their own vegetables and produce their own food.

(2) Promoting ecological diversity – We are committed to preserving and promoting the
ecological diversity of species, crops and habitats in order to improve the quality of life in
the region and to ensure a healthy environment and diet in a sustainable manner
.

(3) Climate-resilient management – In view of changing climatic conditions, there is a
particular focus on promoting climate-resilient and sustainable
management practices, which we aim to implement in a pioneering, practice-oriented manner and in line with
the latest scientific findings.

(4) Improved use of public resources – We strive to organise the use of
public resources – particularly urban land – in such a way that they
are utilised more efficiently for the benefit of current and future generations and
strengthen our region’s food sovereignty.

(5) Promotion of cultural work and discursive and artistic exchange centred on the
cultural practice of ‘agriculture’ – creation of accessible spaces for this
exchange.

(6) Promoting knowledge and practice – The association collects and tests knowledge on ecological,
climate-sensitive and soil-conserving agriculture. This knowledge is actively
shared in order to strengthen local food sovereignty and promote the
common good.

(7) Educational programmes and cultural events – We present this knowledge in an accessible way
and make it available to the general public, and in particular to children and young people, through
educational programmes, workshops and cultural events.

(8) Promoting networking and collaboration – The field serves as a venue for
networking amongst associations and initiatives from the neighbourhood, as well as from the fields
of education, culture and social affairs, to foster local exchange and
collaboration.

(9) A nature-centred lifestyle – We support people in living in harmony with nature in all
areas of life, and share experience and knowledge to help them put this into
practice.
The association pursues exclusively charitable purposes within the meaning of Sections 34 et seq. of the Austrian Federal Tax Code (BAO).
